In 1996 I setup the Blue Lake office for MD On-Line and I was responsible for daily operations. As the company grew from processing 100 claims per day to over 20,000 I hired and managed staff, evaluated and purchased computer hardware, and developed software to keep pace with growth. My duties included programming, software engineering, networking, security, Windows NT 4.0 and 2000 system administration, Microsoft SQL 6.5 and 2000 database administration, database design, Microsoft IIS 4.0 and 5.0 administration, customer service, and technical support.
Implemented the company's medical claims EDI web site. Designed the system and ordered all of the components for the system including the computer systems, software, Internet connection, domain name and registration, etc. Setup the computer systems, installed software, setup domain and trust relationships, configured Cisco router, configured firewall, configured IIS server, setup user and groups, and completed the web site programming.
Designed and developed a custom file transfer system for the Internet based on FTP. Server was programmed using Java and the client was developed in Delphi.
In 2001 I setup new computer operations in a data center with Dell servers running Microsoft Windows 2000 configured as clustered and load balanced servers. I planned and oversaw the transfer of computer operations from the Blue Lake office to the data center.
